Watercoloring flowers

This is one of several watercolored panels I did today using a stamp from Simply Simon Stamps September card kit. I stamped and embossed the image first, then used a variety of watercolor pens and crayons. I plan to trim the panels and mount on card stock to make greeting cards.

Squirrels, falling leaves and sewing

Well hello there stranger! Yeah, long time no hear, or should I say see or read or blog or ??? Whatever the correct word is, we’ll go with it! I apparently stopped blogging a very long time ago and just decided to give it another try. Problem is that this blogger platform is not the least bit iPhone friendly because it doesn’t do the word wrap thing and I’m a bit impatient with having to manually scroll right and left to read what I’ve written. Ok, rant over ....

Any suggestions for a free app that interacts with Blogger?

I love this time of year when the squirrels are busy and the leaves are gorgeous and falling down to provide a carpet of color in my back yard. I just heard that the reason squirrels are constantly digging is they forget where they’ve buried their nuts. Some of us can certainly understand that, right? Yeah, I thought so! Like that’s why I keep buying fabric is because I can’t find that special piece I bought last month or last year and since I found the perfect pattern I just HAVE to sew it now! Speaking of sewing, I just spent a couple of days helping my 47 year old Goddaughter convert a couple of vintage aprons into bib aprons. What fun! Teaching one-on-one is not my forte but all was well and we had a great time.

Most of my sewing lately has been clothing for myself, grandsons or daughter. I’ve also been sewing quilt blocks  from The Splendid Sampler. If I can add pictures I’ll share a few things I’ve been making.

Ok so I couldn’t get to current pictures, so you might just get to see an Afghan partially done.
Till later!

October 12 Take 12 Project for Ella Publishing

October 12 pt1, originally uploaded by lilypadsis.

This is part one of my pictures for this Month's Take 12 Project. I haven't found a 12 or 6 picture template on any of the free apps for my iPad yet, so just have 10 pics to share this month. The challenge was to show the changing seasons and Fall is one of my favorite seasons, so this was fun. I need to get outside to capture the fall colors, but wanted to show more personal things here.

My back yard in June

My Album 2-004, originally uploaded by lilypadsis.

I made two album pages for the Ella Publishing Take 12 project this month because I had so many pictures that I loved. This page shows a bit of the whimsy that decorates my yard.

My garden

My Purse Dilemma

I have a problem. It's called too-much-in-my-pursitis and I don't know how to cure it! Have you ever dumped the contents of your purse and wondered why in the world you had all that stuff? Well after another very painful arm/shoulder day (this weather is making my arthritis and fibromyalgia flare up) I decided to change to a shoulder purse. Well the purse that I wanted to use just didn't work because my shoulders are too rounded and it kept slipping off. I love, LOVE the soft supple leather this purse is made of and refuse to get rid of it

Toto and Dorothy Minis

Aren't these just the most adorable little characters you've ever set your eyes on? They're tiny winy miniatures! What a talented artist!

Snow again!

Kind of blurry picture from my cell phone, but I think you get the picture! We have beautiful huge snowflakes coming down and coating the trees with lovely soft white stuff. The temps are above freezing, so it won't stick around long and then by Thursday the temps will hit 70. Only in Kansas can you have snow one day and 70's the next (or a couple of days later anyway!)

Snow outside my office window.

That's my little car on the corner getting all covered with snow. Luckily it was very light and easy to brush off after work.

I just Jazzercised!

Thanks to Groupon's discount I was able to go to Jazzercise today! WOW it's been a very long time since I've done aerobic type of exercise, but it was fun and I feel good about doing it.

Topeka's First Snow! {really, trust me!}

Snow! Can't see but it is there!

This was taken outside my office window on the 8th floor with my really old cell phone, so you'll just have to trust me when I say it was snowing! Here's what one of the local tv stations has on their website:

Today
Rain and Snow Mixed, High 40°, Low 26°
Cold and windy. Rain may mix with snow at times...little if any accumulation.

Tuesdays

Tuesday means I made it past Monday and it's only one more day until Wednesday which is officially Hump Day, especially for those of us who work a M-F job. I thought about calling this post Tuesday Truthfulness and then I'd just tell the truth about things. What things though? Hmmm, how about the fact that I usually take on more than I can handle? It's kind of like the old saying, "your eyes are bigger than your stomach!" Remember that one when you were growing up? Well these days that translates in to, "your intentions are bigger than your abilities" (or substitute time, energy, stamina, money... they all work equally well.) Just when I should have been spending all of my spare time making cards, gift bags, tags, etc. for the craft show on November 27th I decided to participate in the Operation Write Home Valentines Blog Hop on my other blog Diary of a Craft Room Transformation. Now don't get me wrong, I have zero regrets and am 100% happy that I did, BUT the fact remains I should have spent that time working on the craft show preparations. So that is truthfulness, ok? Maybe I need to start setting better goals and making check lists and then sticking to them. Any suggestions? How do you stay on target?
